Dallas server maintenanceUPDATE: As of 5:40am EST, the Dallas server is back up. The power work ran into a bunch of trouble including the power being disconnected earlier than they expected from some portions of the data center so our server went offline earlier than they had originally planned, and therefore was also offline much longer than originally expected until the power to that portion of the facility could be restored. We apologize for the outage and the unexpected nature of it due to no notice being given.
The Dallas data center is offline for emergency maintenance. We apologize. They are reworking some of the power distribution so parts of the facility had to be shut down to accomplish this work.
Unfortuantely we missed an emergency maintenance announcement email from the data center, and didn't get the announcement sent out in advance. We apologize for not giving prior notice.
The outage has been longer than they anticipated due to running into some unexpected issues, but the hope to have the facility back online soon.

In an effort to improve our Teamspeak service, we have implemented a new feature called TSDNS. This feature adds new functionality when using a custom DNS name in your Teamspeak control panel. If you use a Custom DNS name for your server, you will now be able to connect to your server using only the custom name with out specifying a port number after it.
You will still need to use a port number if using our general server names or using a direct IP address.
Upon selecting a new DNS name, you will need to wait up to 5 minutes for the server to reload its settings for the Custom DNS name to start functioning completely in your client without the port number.
We want to stress the point that this only works when using a Custom DNS name that you must set in your Teamspeak server control panel, and you must be using the most recent version of the TS3 client.
